We will be administering

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are always welcome at Central School.  Please see Ms. Valery Gutierrez, the School/ Community Liaison, for more information on becoming a volunteer at Central School.  She can be reached by phone at 626-962-7915 ext. 6304.   

 

 

New guideline have been put in place to volunteer at all Baldwin Park Unified Schools.  If you would like to volunteer in a classroom, chaperone a field trip, or assist on campus please come by the office to pick up a volunteer application form.

Updated Camera Surveillance Information

 

Surveillance Videos: The District utilizes surveillance video cameras to assist in protecting students, staff, visitors and District property all while enhancing its security operations. Video cameras may be placed in buses, hallways, parking lots, common areas, cafeterias, stadiums, auditoriums, and any other location except locker rooms and bathrooms. The Site Administration may review the live or recorded footage at any time.  These video cameras are monitored and are under the control of the School Police Department. The School Police Department is responsible for the maintenance of any surveillance videos.

 

Surveillance videos are NOT considered to be educational records of students but may be used in disciplinary actions or proceedings against students. All requests for copies of videos should be submitted to the School Police Department. The District shall have discretion as to the release of surveillance videos.

 

Videos de vigilancia:  El Distrito utiliza cámaras de video de vigilancia para ayudar a proteger a los estudiantes, personal, visitantes y propiedad del Distrito, todo mientras mejora sus operaciones de seguridad.  Las cámaras de video pueden ser colocadas en autobuses, pasillos, estacionamientos, áreas comunes, cafeterías, estadios, auditorios, y cualquier otra ubicación excepto vestuarios y baños.  En cualquier momento, los administradores de la escuela pueden revisar las secuencias de video en vivo o grabadas.  Estas cámaras de video son monitoreadas y están bajo el control del Departamento de Policía Escolar. El Departamento de Policía Escolar es responsable del mantenimiento de cualquier video de vigilancia. 
 
Los videos de vigilancia NO son considerados como parte de los registros educativos de los estudiantes, pero pueden ser usados en acciones disciplinarias o procedimientos contra estudiantes. Todas las solicitudes de copias de videos deben ser entregadas al Departamento de Policía Escolar. El Distrito tendrá discreción en cuanto a la liberación de videos de vigilancia.

 

 





 

School Site Council & DAC

School Site Council is a group of parents and school staff who meet regularly to:

  • Review student achievement data
  • Develop the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and accompanying budget
  • Monitor implementation of SPSA and program effectiveness
  • Annually review and modify plan
  • Recommend SPSA to governing board

This Year, our School Site Council members are:

  • Ms. Tracy Aguirre, Chairperson        
  • Ms. Janie Barreto, Vice Chairperson
  • Ms. Charmeine Velazquez, Parent
  • Ms. Juliana Khuu, Parent
  • Ms. Rachel Villareal, Parent
  • Mrs. Esther Garcia, Principal
  • Ms. Valery Gutierrez, School/Community Liaison
  • Mrs. Corinne Murphy, Teacher
  • Mrs. Margarita Urias-Limon, Teacher
  • Ms. Debra Albrecht, Teacher

DAC representatives report to the district and other schools about the School Site Council meetings.   The DAC representatives this year is Jose Contreras, Eduardo Acosta, and Charmaine Velazquez.  

School Site Council meetings are open to all Central community members.   Meeting dates and agendas are posted outside the office.   

 

ELAC & DELAC

ELAC (English Learners Advisory Committee) makes recommendations to the School Site Council regarding the needs of English Learners at Central.   Ana Rubio is the governing member of the 2016-17 ELAC Committee.  Another ELAC representative will be elected at the next meeting.  

 

DELAC (District English Learners Advisory Committee) reports to the district about English Learner concerns at the school site. ELAC is part of the School Site Council.  The DELAC members this year are Maricela Vargas and Ana Rubio.

Parent Meetings

We have two regularly held parent meetings that help us share information about the academic growth at our school. The ELAC meeting shares information about our English Language Learners.  We have our School Site Council that meets to take care of many of the mandates of our school.

In addition, Mrs. Garcia holds a Coffee with the Principal once per month where parents can discuss anything they wish pertaining to Central School.  Come join us for coffee and goodies and let's chat!
