Principal's Message

As we approach the Holiday Season I would like to express my appreciation for the effort you extend in supporting your children as they become proficient students.  As parents or guardians we have the responsibility to see that our children have sufficient rest, have the many physical necessities needed, receive emotional support and come to school prepared to learn.  We at the school are prepared to welcome students’ everyday with kindness in an organized environment.  We have the responsibility to see that students are given lessons each day that challenge them to become successful.  As we develop trust with each other and work together to do our best we continue to reap positive benefits.  Based on the results of last year’s State Testing our school is continuing to have academic success.  Please encourage your child to tell you about their experiences for growth they have every day

Parent Meeting

We have two regular held parents meeting that help us share information about the academic growth at our school. The ELAC meeting shares information about our English Language Learners. Rosa Lopez is the chairperson of this group. We meet during October to share the transitional process to parents. We are going to meet again with the same agenda and hope to have another large group come to better understand the process of helping your child learn more English. This will be Monday the 7th of November at 8:30. We have our School Site Council that meets to take care of many of the mandates of our school. Our committee has been formed and Mr. Contreras is our Chairperson with committee members, Corina Paez, Isabella Montoya, Lissett Duarte and Rosa Lopez. We are developing a survey that will be distributed to all families. Please take a few minutes to fill this out to have your input about our school.

School Communication

Often during the week Mrs. Sanchez contacts every home with messages related to events and special days at our school. These messages come to you via the telephone and these messages help us keep families aware of what is important for your child. I would encourage you to listen and be aware of what she is sharing with you. Teachers also send home newsletters to keep you informed with what is going on in your child’s classroom. We are preparing to put these messages on the web page to allow you free access to what is happening at Central School.

Fundraiser

We had a successful sale of our cheese cakes this year. The money generated from your child’s effort goes directly to the grade level. This money is then used to go on Field Trips or bring guest on to campus to share valuable information with our students. The cakes will be delivered on Tuesday, November 8 beginning at 2:00PM. We will set up in front of Mr. Carter and Mrs. Caballero’s room 5 & 6. If you come early it alleviates standing in line. We will schedule the DJ Party and Limo lunch before the Winter Holiday.
